Spinal Decompression in Cadott

Non-surgical spinal decompression is a conservative option for people with herniated or bulging discs, or any type of disc issues that cause nerve impingement, either in the lumbar spine or cervical spine. It is also effective for moderate to severe arthritis or mild to moderate stenosis.

Our Approach

Your Kromrey Chiropractic chiropractor will determine if spinal decompression is appropriate therapy for your condition. Depending on your situation, we will tailor your spinal decompression therapy to your individual needs. We’ll typically begin with electrical muscle stimulation, which helps relax the muscles so they aren’t guarding or tightening up during the decompression.

Next, we’ll hook you up to our computerized spinal decompression table. We’ll set the traction weight to the appropriate level for your needs, being careful not to aggravate any muscle spasms. The table gently stretches and releases your spine, creating space between the vertebrae. This action creates a vacuum effect, pulling bulging discs back into place and alleviating irritation on the nervous system.

We want you to be as comfortable as possible during your therapy, so you can lie face up or face down on the table—whichever you prefer. A staff member always monitors you to ensure you’re not uncomfortable or apprehensive. You will also be given the kill switch, so you can instantly stop the table anytime you want. Most patients find the experience relaxing and enjoyable, but they like the control of knowing they could stop the table if they wanted to.

How Quickly Does It Work?

Many patients report immediate reduction in pain. It will take repeated sessions over several weeks to create lasting changes in the spine. Then, we recommend regular maintenance sessions to keep everything working properly. The frequency of your maintenance care will be determined by such things as your job, physical activities and weight.

Insurance Coverage

Most insurance plans cover non-surgical spinal decompression therapy. We charge a small fee for our cash patients.
