Chiropractic Care

We provide advanced spinal correction utilizing "state of the art" chiropractic techniques. Never in the history of chiropractic have we been able to provide the level of help and expertise that now exists. These newer correction methods are even safer, more comfortable and more effective than ever before. Our Doctors of Chiropractic, Dr. Shawn Kromrey and Dr. Angela Dreyer have years of training and experience in spinal adjustment.

 Pro Adjuster

At Kromrey Chiropractic our doctors combine the “hands-on” technique with the modern technology the Pro Adjuster.

How does the Pro Adjuster work?

The Pro Adjuster applies a light mechanical test force to the joints directly over the spine, and it can register information faster than your body can react to the amount of force.  Thus, the amount of movement is accurately measured to ensure that the right amount of pressure is being applied to the joint.  By using the “gentle taps” the Pro Adjuster is “unsticking” the joint in order to help treat the subluxation.

 Corrective  Exercises

We teach our patients special "blueprint" exercises designed just for them to help strengthen and correct their own unique problem. These exercises can be performed in the comfort of your own home and can improve the effectiveness of your spinal correction by as much as 30-40%. In addition to skeletal misalignment, muscles and connective tissues can be out of place or strained by improper alignment and use. Specific exercises and stretches can help your body stay in balance and in health.

Lifestyle Advice

We often find it helpful to "coach" our patients on certain activities they should avoid or do differently to avoid aggravating their particular health challenge. Our goal is to help every patient achieve a fulfilling and happy lifestyle full of the activities they enjoy most. We recognize that each our patient is a whole person, and help them reach true health and wellness is a collaborate effort between our professionals and our patients.  At our 45 Minutes to Freedom classes we have different topics that we discuss to help you achieve your ideal healthy lifestyle.

Nutritional Counseling

We provide specific recommendations on nutritional supplements and healthy food choices to enhance our patient´s return to optimal health. Do you know which supplements and vitamins are good for you? Dr. Shawn Kromrey can provide a structured nutritional program based on your individual needs.

Spinal & Postural Screenings

Posture and spinal screenings can reveal important health information and unlock the door to improved health and well-being. Kromrey Chiropractic uses state-of-the-art equipment to do a nervous system scan to help us determine the underlying cause of your pain, and also to tell us how your nervous system functions overall. This way we can recommend the best course of treatment to get you healthy and feeling good again, and keep you healhty and feeling good. We also will take a Posture Picture of you and evaluate your posture, and to recommend ways we use to help correct the problem.  We provide screenings at area malls, community events, health fairs and places of employment. Contact us today to arrange a screening at your event or workplace.

Physiotherapy

To complement and enhance the healing effects of Dr. Kromrey's and Dr. Dreyer's specific Chiropractic manipulative treatment, we at Kromrey Chiropractic also provide some physiotherapy.

Two of our most commonly used therapies are Ultrasound and Interferential Electro-Therapy.  Let's first discuss Ultrasound.

What is Ultrasound?

  • Ultrasound is a therapeutic treatment using high-frequency sound waves administered in the region of soft tissue injures.

How does Ultrasound work?

  • Sound vibrations, as fast as a million times per second, penetrate the tissues deep in the body creating a heat response.  These vibrations and heat help break down and dispense unhealthy calcium and other hard tissue accumulations.

What does Ultrasound feel like?

  • The gel used to conduct the sound waves is at room temperature and may momentarily feel cool to the skin when it is initially applied.  Most patients feel nothing, or a pleasant and relaxing sensation below the surface of the skin.

Why is Ultrasound used?

  • Ultrasound treatment can usually be administered directly to the area of compliant, penetrating deep into the body.  The rise in temperature, increases blood flow, relaxes muscle spasms, massages damaged tissues, and speeds the healing process.

Our next most commonly used therapy is called Interferential Electro-Therapy (IET).

What is Interferential Electro-Therapy

  • It is a therapeutic treatment to aid in the relief of pain and the promotion of soft tissue healing.

How does IET work?

  • Tiny amounts of electrical impulses are induced into the tissues in the vicinity of the injury.  Where these waves intersect below the surface of the skin, a low-frequency stimulation is created.  This promotes the body to secrete endorphins and other natural pain killers to help relieve pain.

What does IET feel like?

  • Most people find IET to be extremely beneficial and describe the treatment as a faint "pins and needles" sensation.

Why is IET used?

  • IET is most often used for pain relief and to aid in reducing the swelling of soft tissues.  Ligament sprains, muscle strains and spasms often respond to this treatment, helping to reduce atrophy and increase blood circulation.

Our  State-of-the-Art Technology

At Kromrey Chiropractic we do a three part nervous system scan.  The three parts that we scan are: the Surface Electromyography (SEMG) scan, Muscle Balance (Symmetry), and Thermal Scan (Temperature Differences).

  • Surface Electromyography (SEMG) Scan

The SEMG measures how well the motor nerves are working by reading the amount of current found in the muscles.  Subluxations disturb the function of the nerve causing and abnormal amount of electrical current flowing to your muscles.

  • Muscle Balance

If one or more vertebrae are out of their normal position,  it disturbs nerve function.  The disturbance creates muscle imbalance caused by an abnormal amount of electrical current in the muscles on either side of the spine.  As a result, the muscles become weaker or stronger, tighter, or fatigued.  The abnormal muscle pattern on the scan reveals an increased amount of tension/pull on one side compared to the other.

  • Thermal Scan (Temperature Differences)

Since our body temperature's average is 98.6 degrees, the right and left sides of your spine should be the same temperature.  Your skin is the largest organ of the body and the blood vessels under the skin work as the body's thermostat.  (They expand to release heat and contract to retain heat controlling the body's temperature.)  When the communication between the Nervous System and the blood vessel's gets disturbed, it can cause the body's thermostat to malfunction producing and imbalanced temperature reading along the spine.  The Thermal Scan allows us to use the information we recieve to determine if your nervous system is functioning properly.
